Saving Brad from himself

Sometimes, it feels like a full-time job to just save teenagers from their own self destructive actions.  It's not even the outside influences - it's just their own inability to see the consequences of what they do.

This evening, Brad got a burr up his butt and decided that he really needs his stuff from Traci's house.  He wanted to call her to see if he could go over to get it.  She said that she'd let him have his things under the condition that he spend some time alone with her.  She wanted him to be at the house from 10:00 - 4:00 on Saturday while Doug & Toby were out hunting.  I can't imagine what it is that he has over there that he can't live without and that he'd risk getting hurt or arrested to get.  We tried to gently talk him out of it, but no go.  So, finally with all of us tag-teaming him, we got him to see the wisdom in meeting her for lunch and then seeing how things go from there.  That way, he isn't totally alone with her and if something happens there are witnesses.  After that, if she didn't bring his clothes and stuff with her - Granny will take him shopping to get some jeans, hoodies and a new Halloween mask.  That's basically what we think is the emergency.

He's killing me!
