Harmony's birthday celebration

Today was Harmony's birthday party @ Mamma & Pappa's church and then her birthday dinner at the house this evening.  I tried for over an hour to get a nap in before the birthday party this afternoon and it just didn't happen.  When we arrived at the church, there was some sort of conflict between Steph & Brent.  I let Steph know that we were on borrowed time due to the lack of napping.  I'm not really sure how she saw the party going, but it was obviously a disappointment for Stephanie.  Harmony did really well at first running around and having a good time, but the novelty wore off pretty quickly.  We did manage to get the presents opened and her cake served.  By the time that we left, she was cranky and really in need of a nap.  Nana had to be the one to carry her out and put her in and out of her carseat.

This evening was a totally different story.  Granny came over to have pizza and cake for her birthday.  When she got up from her nap, she was still pretty cranky - but after about 20 minutes or a half hour, she was awake enough to be past that.  We had pizza and she picked the meat off of hers - and Grandad's - and Granny's (much to Daddy's lament) and sat in her chair.  As soon as it looked like she was done with pizza, we got out the Spongebob cake (she LOVED it!) and got pictures and she even blew out her candle.  She didn't eat a bite of cake, but loved the decorations and was thrilled with her card and present from Granny.  We then moved the party into the living room where we played the Spongebob DVD that Granny got and played with the Duplo blocks for a really long time.  Her attention span is growing!  Tonight is what I thought that her birthday party/dinner should be.  All about her!
